IHSSN baseball coverage starts 7/24/2020!
If you’re like most people, you, or someone in your household, probably picked up a new smartphone, tablet, TV or laptop over the holidays. As you use these new devices, there are a few simple things you can do to make sure your data goes as far as possible.
- If you’re not already, PLEASE make sure your Wi-Fi connection is password protected. The more people with access to your Wi-Fi, the more data is going to be used. Without a Wi-Fi password, you can easily provide streaming access to the whole neighborhood on YOUR dime!
- When several people are all streaming videos at the same time, you can easily get buffering and lockups. During these times of heavy use, you can easily adjust your resolution within the app (like Netflix or Hulu) which uses less Internet. In YouTube, you can choose “standard definition” over “high definition” videos.
- Make sure your antivirus software is up to date and working properly. Any viruses, spyware or malware on your device can easily slow you down, and you may not even know it!
- Shut down your device or app when you’re finished using it. Keeping lots of apps running on various devices when they are not being used can cause serious road blocks on the way to fast streaming!
If you regularly use these tips and you still need more speed, give us a call or fill out this online form to bump up your Internet. We offer up to 25 Mbps download speeds in most areas for just $64.95/month (and less when you bundle)!
