Windows of Grace This brief explanation is offered to you in the hope that it will feed your faith and encourage your learning about the Bible's stories. It is not, however, the result of any of Grace Lutheran Church's organized educational or evangelistic programs. This book is dedicated to the personal piety and faith of the people who have responded to this Christian art: There is the visiting bishop who told the worshippers at Grace that they had no excuse for missing church because the windows give a sermon; there are the visitors to our services who are pleasantly surprised to see the beauty of the windows; there are the Cub Scouts, working on religious awards, who tour our building with their parents, remembering and explaining the stories and the symbols; there is the occasional solitary prayer that is said in our sanctuary during the week as private mediation is done by a passerby; there are the former members of Grace who come back to see us with cameras to capture and maintain memories of the windows; there is the lighting that shines in the windows of the “Good Shepherd” and “Jesus blessing the children,” to remind us of God’s love; there is the church secretary who cared enough to arrange the printing; there is the son who gave me the idea to write the explanations. From all of this faith to your faith, Grace Lutheran Church dedicates our little version of the gospel of salvation. Enjoy!
