Showy Orchis

| The showy orchis is a plant that I have located only
in one location in Black Hawk County. It may grow in other locales
that I am not aware of. Please e-mail any other locations where you
know the showy orchis grows.
The showy orchis flowers at that period of time when many of the spring wildflowers bloom. It is a short plant -- usually less than 12" tall. Northeast Iowa Timetable: Early to mid-May |
