Skunk Cabbage Skunk Cabbage
(Symplocarpus foetidus)
During the very late days of winter or the early days of spring (depending on your perspective), often while some snow can still be found, the skunk cabbage are beginning to emerge.  There is no mistaking this most interesting plant.  Not only is its flower unique, but its odor can also leave a lasting memory.
