Nodding Trillium Nodding Trillium
(Trillium cernuum)
I wish I could say that I have found many nodding trilliums . . .unfortunately, I cannot.  Trilliums of any species are not common in Northeast Iowa.

To identify the nodding trillium, study the stalk of the flower.  If the flower is drooping, often below the three large leaves, you have located a nodding trillium.
