Closed (Bottle) Gentian (Gentiana andrewsii) |
| I have yet to find a more resilient flower blooming
during the autumn season than the closed (or bottle) gentian. Enduring
the extreme variables of the season, the closed gentian often bears the
scars of frosty nights and sunny days. I have often found bottle
gentians, still colorful, long after the other wet prairie plants have
lost their color.
