Cardinal Flower
(Lobelia cardinalis) |
| If a wildflower could have a personality, the cardinal
flower could certainly be described as proud, yet elusive. I almost
always find the cardinal flower along a shady stream bank or along the
river's edge. Its bright red flower catches my attention, but only
if I too am in the quiet areas along a waterway.
