Indian Tobacco  Indian Tobacco
         (Lobelia inflata)
Indian Tobacco is one of the plants I learned of by accident.  I had been prowling through a wet prairie, looking at other "more noticeable" plants, when I happened to look down.  There at my feet were the tiny pale lavender (almost white) blossoms of Indian Tobacco.

Look carefully for this plant.  Although its leaves may grow to nearly three feet, its blossom is only 1/4 inch in size!
