Common Mullein  Common Mullein
  (Verbascum thapsus)
On several occasions, I have had the opportunity to view the mini-ecosystem thriving on the Common Mullein.  What I've observed are the tiny spiders, blending by their color with the color of the plant, wait in hiding until a fly pauses on the plant.  In an instant, the spiders subdue and wrap the flies for a future meal.
