Arrowhead Arrowhead
(Sagittaria latifolia)
Summertime . . . a time when the bass will hit on surface plugs, swallows chase hordes of flying insects, and arrowhead is in full bloom along the shoreline of my favorite marsh.

Expansive stands of arrowhead often fill the shore of calm, shallow wetlands.  Plan to get wet if you hope to look closely at these flowers.

Northeast Iowa Timetable:  Late July - early August
