Christian Education
At Grace Lutheran Church there are educational
opportunities for people of all ages. Our Sunday School begins at the age
of three and goes all the way through junior high. Sunday School is held
at 9:45 on Sunday mornings in the church basement for one hour. The
children have approximately forty-five minutes of lesson and activity and
fifteen minutes of music. The children then present their musical talent
at our worship service once a month.
When the students are in fifth grade they are
able to go to First Communion classes with their parents to learn about
communion and how it relates to their life. This class lasts about five
weeks.
In sixth grade students start confirmation
with Pastor Brown and then in seventh grade they have Pastor Rennas.
Confirmation is held in our church basement and starts at 6:30 p.m. and goes to
8:00 p.m. every Wednesday night during the school year. On Reformation
Sunday of the students' ninth grade year they are confirmed.
Our adults also have an opportunity to
continue their education, during the fall and spring. The pastors and
other small groups of the church community provide opportunities to get involved
in the learning process about faith, life, and church history. You can find out
more about these programs by contacting our church office for times and dates.
Christian Participation
We have three choirs at our church -- a Bell Choir, a
Senior Vocal Choir, and our Praise Band. Our Senior Choir practices
on Wednesday nights at 6:45 p.m. and performs one Sunday a month.
Anyone may join and they would enjoy your company.
The Bell Choir also practices on Wednesday nights at 7:30.
The Praise Band practices each Sunday before the worship
service. Your voice or instrumental talents are welcome in this contemporary
christian music setting.
